About the Presentation
The topic will be Design Patterns in Flex.

The speaker will be Benjamin Elmore, Senior System Architect, Senior Technologist of Twin Technologies and coauthor of the recent "Adobe Flex 2 - Training from the Source" book.

Mr. Elmore is a well-travel IT speaker who has logged over one hundred speaking engagements across the US and Europe helping developers, business users and senior management teams understand how technology works and assist them in their organization. He has also logged nearly half that number of training session as a Certified Trainer on a variety of technologies including most of the Macromedia offering.

ColdFusion Code Generator Updates - RC1

I have released what I am calling the first Release Candidate of the Illudium PU-36 Code Generator version 1.0. It includes fixes for all known bugs as well as all the (accepted) enhancements. The most notable enhancements are MySQL 4.1 support, the ability to customize how it names the files in the save to file feature and an enhancement whereby columns with database defaults will no longer be set to required in the generated code. Boston is a Hub of RIA/Flex Conferences?

Want to attend a conference about RIA's and Flex? Well, it appears Boston is the place to be. First, the DX3 Conference sponsored by Lynda.com is in Boston this year from May 15-18. Topics include Apollo and Flex as well as Ajax and general RIA development. The list of speakers is quite impressive.

On the rumor front, it appears the next version of 360Flex, which was just held in San Jose at the Ebay offices, is headed for Boston. Check out this post and this post for clues. So, is it true?

Cairngorm and Code Generation

The Adobe Consulting blog there is a post about a new Cairngorm Code Generator. As the brief post notes, this topic has been discussed in greater detail before (and there is already at least one generator that exists). However, the one being built by Luis Lejter is an Eclipse plugin that has a lot of exciting features which you can preview in the image gallery. Unfortunately, there is apparently no open beta or alpha yet, so we'll just have to watch and wait for this one to become available "real soon".
