Sprout Impresses!
Posted on Jan 31, 2008
I got an invitation to beta test Sprout this morning and after only testing it for 30 minutes or so, I have to admit I am impressed. I was able to very quickly build Flex/Flash based widgets that even incorporated dynamic content from various feeds such as RSS and iCal. Check out the examples below. Both of these were created within the 30 minutes I first tried Sprout via a very intuitive WYWIWYG editor. I hope to post more as I have more time to utilize the tool.
ColdFusion Open-Source Update - January 28, 2008

Two updates this week and a number of announcements and tutorials. I actually have 95% of an AIR application built to write these updates practically for me. The last five percent is 2% finishing up the fact that the Google Notebook API only serves up 10 records at a time. The last 3% is trying to build an algorithm to create witty introductions. Unfortunately, the current version fails in this respect.

Five new projects and one update this week. Once again I spend a rare vacation day writing this post...at least no one can fault my dedication :). On a side note, I am sure you all heard the big news in the NFL this week. What?? No, not that! Its the hiring of Tony Sparano (that's Sparano) as the head coach of the Dolphins. On the plus side, he is entering a job where its nearly impossible to do worse than your predecessors. On the minus side, it will be difficult to do much better given the nearly complete absence of talent on that team. Well, back to the topic at hand...
