ColdFusion Open-Source Update - July 31
Version 5 Released
Sean Corfield and a number of others announced that Fusebox 5 is now available on fusebox.org. The recent release was apparently waiting on a "edge case bug" to be fixed. A new skeleton application for version 5 is also available. Updates to the site are already in the works and should be released over the course of the next few weeks. Congrats to Sean and the others who worked on this release.
Mach ii
Version 1.1.1 (or 1.2?) Nearing Public Alpha
Peter Farrell posted to the Mach-II mailing list that the 1.1.1 alpha should be released any day now. There are quite a few improvements as well as bug fixes - enough that Matt and Peter were debating whether the release would be redubbed version 1.2 on ColdFusion Weekly podcast. One of the interesting updates being tested is allowing you to use duck typing on the core files for performance reasons using an ANT script to strip out typing for production ready core files.

Joe Rinehart covers the timeline and enhancements he is working on for the Beta 2 release of Model-Glue 2 (aka. Unity). He says that he expects the release to occur in about a month and will contain enhancements to the GenericList functionality as well as some improvements to scaffolding. The update will also take into account some changes that have occurred in Reactor to improve integration.
