ColdFusion Open-Source Update - July 16

A busy week with four new projects and five updates. I hereby dub this the week of the tutorial with ten tutorial(ish) posts this week. In case you are wondering, I do in fact have the authority to dub weeks - its a provision my lobbyist had written into the reauthorization of the Patriot Act. Ok...'nuff foolin'...

New Releases and Updates

New Project: Calendar CFC
A cfcalendar replacement to let you select months or weeks
Tom Mollerus has released a new project to function as a cfcalendar replacement with some advantages. First, this is an HTML/JavaScript-based calendar rather than Flash. Second, it allows you to select date ranges such as an entire week or an entire month.

New Project: Pronto
Initial Release
Pronto is a task manager written by Lu Sancea.

New Project: Formulate
Initial Release
Formulate, also by Lu Sancea, is a tool to help build CSS compliant forms with Spry.

New Project: BitmapTxt
Initial Release
This project by Ben (last name not provided) is really nifty. It uses CF8's new image manipulation features to generate an actual bitmap image off of ASCII text.

Schema Tool
Schema Tool Update
Barney Boisvert has released a new version of his database schema manager application with SQL based migration scripts.

FarCry
FarCry Core 4.0.4 Released
Jeff Coughlin goes over the highlights of the latest version of the FarCry core (as in, not the CMS plugin).

SnipEx
CFEclipse's SnipEx server components released
Mark Drew has released the SnipEx components allowing you to create shared snippet servers.

Snipex Code Released - CFLib Available in Eclipse
Ray Camden has made (most of) the cflib library available as a SnipEx archive.

Soundings
Soundings 2 Update / Request for Logo
Ray has added some new features to his survey application and is looking for someone to create a logo.

ImageCFC 2.18 released
Rick Root has updated his image manipulation component.
