ColdFusion Open-Source Update - November 26, 2007
Posted on Nov 26, 2007
No new projects this week but several updates and some important announcements. Specifically, there were a number of announcements by Chris Scott regarding a long awaited ColdSpring update. Personally, I am giving thanks this week that the University of Miami's football season is finally over (and what a disappointment to say the least). Now if we could just end the national nightmare that is the Miami Dolphins, I could live in peace. Ok, back to the regularly scheduled dose of open-source ColdFusion.

Announcements
ColdSpring
Long, long awaited ColdSpring updates!
I think Chris Scott forgot at least one long in the title of his post ;). Nonetheless, he notes that version 1.2 is coming *soon* and many of the features are already available in the BER including a couple of bug fixes listed in this post.
More ColdSpring updates!
Chris Scott goes over a new feature tha allows you to define collection factories within the XML that can be referenced in the configuration of other components.
Even More ColdSpring Updates!!
Another new feature in ColdSpring 1.2 will be automatic wire tests currently built for CFCUnit but with further support to come.
Possibly my last ColdSpring update this weekend...
Much like the AbstractAutowireTests above, the AbstractAutowireTransactionalTests allows for automatic wire-testing but in this case will do so within a database transaction and roll back everything when the test is done.
Giving Thanks... for Chris Scott!
Sean Corfield is grateful that a new official release of ColdSpring is on the way, including some features that have been in the BER but never received an official release.
