ColdFusion Open-Source Update - September 25
Posted on Sep 25, 2006
Perhaps the ColdFusion open-source world heard about how I am not sleeping well these days because of the new baby and decided to give me a rest this week (since we all know the world revolves around me ;). Nonetheless, this was as quiet a week as I have seen since I first started doing these posts back in April. In fact, there were no new projects and no major releases this week that I am aware of - and I think it has been a long while since that has happened.Model-Glue
Custom Scaffolds with Ajax Video
Joe Rinehart shows how you can customize the generated scaffolds in Model-Glue: Unity. In his example video he adds Ajax calls to the standard edit and list pages to handle the saves and deletes asynchronously straight off the auto-generated templates. he also states that he plans to include these templates as an "Action Pack" in the upcoming release.
DataMgr/DataSynch
Database Synchronization
Steve Bryant released a component that functions with his DataMgr project to copy tables and data between two databases. His example discussed copying tables and data from Access to MySQL, but I assume this will work for any of the database types that DataMgr supports (Access, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Lighthouse Pro
Minor Update
Ray Camden released a minor fix to one of the recently added files to edit status.
ToXML
Project Page Added
ToXML, also by Ray Camden, finally has its own project page on his site.
Canvas
Upcoming Changes
Ray Camden also discusses, in the same post as above, some changes that a user submitted to his wiki project. It includes a long list of improvements to the project that he lists in the comments to the post.
BlogCFC
Creating a Flex 2 interface for the BlogCFC application
Ray's article on devnet regarding hot to build a Flex front-end to blogCFC was released. It is a great read for anyone looking to get started in Flex (which includes me :).
cfcBlaster
Project Files Updated
Mike Rankin's recently released code generator generated components that extended some base classes. He has now included these base components in a seperate download to utilize if you wish.
