Generate Your Fusebox Code with Scaffolds

Posted on Jun 06, 2007

Russ Johnson has released a set of Fusebox 5 templates for my Illudium PU-36 Code Generator. This includes a controllerCircuit template and a viewCircuit template. It also includes something people have asked for in the standard template and that is form and list page scaffolds. This is exactly the kind of thing I have been hoping people would share and I could potentially distribute with the generator itself as an alternate template. Nice work Russ!

Russ Johnson Thanks for the mention!

You know, after reading the title of your post, I had a lightbulb go off. I wonder how easy it would be to use the core of Illudium as the generator and writing some custom lexicons for Fusebox that would automatically do the scaffolding for you based on the templates, or any templates for that matter.

I can see that being a huge thing and it doesnt seem like it would be that difficult to do. Is Illudium licensed to allow something like this?

Sean Corfield This is awesome! Great work Russ!

Kevin Roche and Peter Bell have been working on a scaffold generation system for Fusebox 5.5 (formerly Fusebox 6) so it would be great if we could all get together and "compare'n'contrast" the approaches so that we can figure out a best of breed approach for Fusebox 5.5 (in Alpha now, Beta planned for CFUNITED).

Russ Johnson Thanks Sean!

I would love to get together with those guys on the scaffolding. Im actually working on some enhancements to the templates so that they have a basic stylesheet. This would make the scaffolds much nicer in appearance without going too heavy on the design stuff.
