Music for Your Work Week - Kish Mauve

In a comment to my last post, Matt Williams asked what happened to the "Music for Your Work Week" series of posts. Well, the answer is that I had been planning on it for a long time and it isn't for lack of good music. In fact, I am now a member of emusic and have been downloading stuff like crazy. Anyway, at first the break had to do with a lack of other technical posts and suddenly my blog was looking like a music blog...nonetheless, I am hereby bringing it back from extended hiatus and promise to post on a semi-weekly basis :)

Moving on, my pick for this week is a band called Kish Mauve. Their Kish Mauve and Modern Love EPs are available on both iTunes and emusic. They continue my fascination with retro-sounding electronica ("Retro-Electro-Rocktronica" was what I previosuly deemed it). I am particularly fond of "Come On" off of the Kish Mauve EP and "I'm in Love with a German Film Star" from Modern Love, but seeing as both EPs combine to a total of 5 songs, its worth the investment to get them all. Here's hoping a full-length album is on the way. And thanks Matt for kicking me in the butt and getting these posts started again.
