Sprout Impresses!

Posted on Jan 31, 2008

I got an invitation to beta test Sprout this morning and after only testing it for 30 minutes or so, I have to admit I am impressed. I was able to very quickly build Flex/Flash based widgets that even incorporated dynamic content from various feeds such as RSS and iCal. Check out the examples below. Both of these were created within the 30 minutes I first tried Sprout via a very intuitive WYWIWYG editor. I hope to post more as I have more time to utilize the tool.

Abhijeet Brian, I second your thoughts completely. I was very impressed as well after using it to create few banners. These are few very important things I noticed there and would like to share couple of things with you [and your readers as well]

1. If you edit your already published work, you need not to update the code on your website, rather it automatically adopts the updated graphics, text, colors.

2. I found difficulty in using it with background image first, but there are options to bring the text forward on the background image. As this might be one of the major uses done by webmasters for better graphical banners

3. You can link all the work to URLs as well.

So these are just few that I explored, I am already exploring it more for my personal use.

My 10/10 to this application :)
