Unofficial Boston ColdFusion Meetup?

Posted on Jan 12, 2006

Those of you who have followed my blog know that I have bemoaned the lack of a functioning Boston ColdFusion User Group for some time (well, for most of the year and a half that I have lived here). At one point there seemed as if there might be hope, but no such luck. In fact, the site appears to be dead, and a search for user groups on the adobe website does not turn up the CFUG as it once did.

Does this mean that perhaps we have come beyond the technical issues that have prevented us from restarting this group? I am not sure yet, but I do hope to find out. To that end, I went ahead and submitted an application requesting to know if the group could be refounded before I pursue the official group status any further. However, all that being said, I would be willing to attempt to organize an unofficial group social/meeting on local CFers if I could generate any interest. Anyone? Please comment if you would be willing to attend or help organize. If there is interest, I will begin investigating possible dates and venues.

Brian Rinaldi Perhaps it can be official. I got the ok from Adobe to restart the local CF User Group. I just need to set a date and location and get a basic site running. Will work on that this coming week.

Brian Rinaldi As an update, Ray Camden has said he is available to speak when he is in town, but it would be a Friday evening (1/3). So as not to waste Ray's time, I would like to see if there is enough interest out there in organizing this meeting. Please let me know if you are interested by emailing me...and feel free to spread the word. Ray isn't in town that often and it would be great to take advantage of it.
