Weekly ColdFusion Open-Source Update
Posted on Apr 30, 2006
Lately there has been so much happening in ColdFusion open-source that it can be tough to follow. Therefore, I have decided to add what I hope will become a weekly blog post going over the past week's happenings (as long as there are items worth reporting). This was a particularly busy week, so here goes...Reactor Reaches Beta Candidate
Reactor continues to be a very exciting project and the performance and other improvements only make it more exciting. However, there have been alot of API changes recently, so it would be very exciting to see this project hit a milestone that solidifies the API (personally, I have been holding off on upgrading my Open-Source List and a work project that is running on Reactor until the project reached a stable version). I also hope to update my Getting Started with Reactor post when the API is solidified.
BlogCFC 5 Beta Announced
Ray has packed the upcoming release with a ton of new features - too many to list here, making this a compelling upgrade for anyone already using BlogCFC (and there are alot of you). Join in the beta test and help out if you can.
ASFusion Open-Source Blog Engine
Just today, the folks at ASFusion announced that they are building and intend to open-source their own blog engine. Given some of their past projects, this will almost certain to be worth checking out.
Boyzoid's Flex-based ColdFusion Log Reader
Scott Stroz won Ray Camden's advanced ColdFusion coding content with this application (demo), which he has since agreed to support. It adds features such as result filtering by a number of attributes and charting not available using the standard ColdFusion administrator log viewer.
ObjectBreeze v1.1 Released
Nic Tunney continues to improve upon his ORM framework; this release specifically focused on performance improvements (and not the kind that keeps your spam filter busy).
As you can see, it has been a busy week (or so) and I am certain that I even missed a few things. Feel free to add any items I may have missed via the comments.

Hi Brian,
Thanks you for maintaining this great list.
Also, we want to let you know that we have a home page for our blog project, www.mangoblog.org
As of now, it's just a very simple page that describes what the project is.
Thanks
