ColdFusion Open-Source Update - February 22, 2010

Five new releases and five updates this week in ColdFusion open source. Hello, remember me? I am the ColdFusion open source update that has been lacking in your life the past couple weeks or more. Did you miss me? Well, I am here in Miami basking in the warmth but nonetheless I saved up some really good stuff this week including the impressive looking cfcommons project.

New Releases and Updates

New Project: cfCalais
cfCalais – A Coldfusion tag to easily create semantic data
Jon Dowdle created this custom tag to return semantic data from from the Open Calais service by Thompson Reuters.

New Project: ColdFusion Commons Project
ColdFusion Commons Project Released
Micky Dionisio announces this ambitious new project that includes modules for Context (application platform), Reflection, AOP, Templating, Faceplait (layout manager), HTTP and Chimera (a code coverage tool).

New Project: Hasher Form
Initial Release
David Long released this simple form that will hash text in whatever format you choose.

New Project: Merlin Manager CFCs
Merlin Manager 1.0.1 is now available
John Mason has publicly released his ColdFusion monitoring and management application. While the AIR application is not open source, the component library it uses is.

New Project: Open Government Dashboard
Ben Forta on Open Government Dashboards
Fig Leaf Software has made their Open Government Dashboard sample application available. Ben Forta presented this to an online audience recently.

New Project: Spotify MetaData API
Initital Release
Matt Gifford released this component to work with the Spotify API.

New Project: Twilio Library
Initial Release
Jason Fill released this component that wraps Twilio's SMS and voice service API's.

New Project: YUICompressor CFC
YUICompressor CFC v0.1 Released
Tom de Manincor released this component to minify your CSS and JavaScript.

ColdFusion on Wheels
ColdFusion on Wheels 1.0.1 Maintenance Release
Chris Peters announces this maintenance release that fixes some 1.0 bugs.

ColdFusion on Wheels 1.0.2 Maintenance Release
Peter Amiri posts about this release which doesn't have new features but fixes some critical bugs contained in 1.0.1.

ColdFusion Twitter Lib
ColdFusion Twitter Lib updated
Pedro Claudio added a number of new methods to his Twitter API component.

Mach-II
Mach-II Simplicity (1.8) Released
Peter Farrell announces that the stable release of Mach-II 1.8 is officially available. Check out this post for a list of new features.

SweetTweets 2: Attack of the URL Shorteners
Adam Tuttle has brought back his TweetBack component and Mango plugin thanks in part to a new service he was informed about by Ray Camden.

Bob Silvervberg announces a new version of his validation framework including some contributions from Adam Drew and John Whish.

ValidateThis 0.91 - Now with Groovy and ColdFusion on Wheels Support
Bob Silverberg announces a new version of his validation framework that can be used to validate Grooby objects and ColdFusion on Wheels objects.

The FW/1 plugin allows you to easily incorporate an existing FW/1 application into Mura and is available at the Mura App Store.
