ColdFusion Open-Source Update - January 19, 2010

Two new projects and three updates in ColdFusion open source this week. Yesterday, Liz Frederick announced all the new and renewed Adobe Community Professionals (formerly Adobe Community Experts) of which I am grateful to continue to be a part. Its especially great to see that this list contains a significant number of open source project creators and contributors for the ColdFusion community. Congratulations to all!

New Releases and Updates

New Project: Amazon CloudFront CFC
Amazon CloudFront CFC
The goal of this component by Barney Boisvert is to ease the creation of signed URLs for Cloudfront.

New Project: YelpCFC
Initial Release
This component by Jeff Gladnick interfaces with Yelp's API.

BlogCFC
BlogCFC 5.9.005
Raymond Camden posts about this minor update which includes some bug fixes by Gary Funk and other improvements.

BlogCFC will never have an installer. Ever. Until today...
Raymond Camden announces a BlogCFC installer you can download (attached to the post) that will handle the DSN, creating tables, running imports and getting all the basic BlogCFC settings established. Download the installer on his post if you'd like to test.

ColdBox
ColdBox 3.0.0 Milestone 4 released!
Rather than a beta, Luis Majano announces a production ready milestone build that includes a ton of fixes (all listed on this post) and the ability to configure ColdBox using code rather than XML.

ColdBox Eclipse Plugins Updated for 3.0.0 M4
Luis Majano posts that the Eclipse plugins have been updated for the latest release.

Portcullis 2.0.1 released
John Mason makes a minor update to his XSS/SQL-injection prevention library including adding a isDetected() method.

This new Mango plugin by Adam Tuttle improves the mail support in Mango to include BCC support and SSL or TLS authentication via SMTP.

Project Honey Pot Plugin
Another week, another plugin by Mark Aplet for Mango, this time to integrate the Honey Pot Project for fighting spam and email harvesters.
