ColdFusion Open-Source Update - July 28, 2009

Seven new projects and ten updates over the past two weeks. You all clearly didn't cut me a break over my vacation, releasing a crazy amount of new projects and updates. Clearly, when I get to CFUnited in a couple weeks, I will have to set you all straight! Oh, and if you didn't already hear, I announced my latest event in Boston focused on Flex and ColdFusion which you can find at RIAUnleashed.com. Hope to see you there.

New Releases and Updates

New Project: Base62.cfc
Initial Release
Mike Hodgson wrote this component that allows you to encode and decode numbers to base62 format.

New Project: CFPOI
The CFPOI Project: CFSPREADSHEET (and Eventually More!) for any CFML Engine
Matt Woodward created this project in part as a way to add cfspreadsheet functionality to other CFML engines but also to add more flexibility and new features to that functionality.

New Project: FW/1
Introducing FW/1
Sean Corfield introduces this new lightweight, convention-based MVC framework. How lightweight? It uses Application.cfc to create a full MVC framework in one file.

FW/1 0.4 in SVN
Sean Corfield added some API updates as well as sample application.

New Project: Gliint
Initial Release
Gliint, by Mitch Rose, is an implicit invocation MVC framework (like Mach II) that can use either an event-based or command-based model.

New Project: pdfIT
Initial Release
Daniel Budde II created this component library for allowing you to add a variety of text, image and shape objects to a PDF.

New Project: RESTfulCF
Initial Release
Tim Blair posts this framework for publishing RESTful APIs.

Initial Release
Tim Blair created this project to simplify creating and publishing restful interfaces.

Response Caching for RESTfulCF
Tim Blair added the ability to cache the response for a particular controller action.

New Project: Twitter 2 Omniture
Initial Release
Rudi Shumpert wrote this project to convert a Twitter XML feed and convert it to Omniture format.

BlogCFC
No, not ColdFusion 9, not BlogCFC 6, but new update to BlogCFC 5
This update to BlogCFC 5 includes a proper user manager and roles.

CanvasWiki
Important Model-Glue note, and CanvasWiki update
As of the ColdFusion 9 beta you cannot use the trace() method in Model-Glue, which was intended for debugging, but was still in use in CanvasWiki.

CFMU
CFMU 1.0 Released
After fixing some final outstanding bugs, Dan Vega announces the 1.0 release of his Flex and ColdFusion based multiple file uploader.

CFTracker
CFTracker: All sessions summary page
Dave Boyer updates his project for viewing sessions and applications with a summary page built with jQuery.

ColdBox
ColdBox 2.6.4 Released!
This release is fully compatible with the ColdFusion 9 beta.

ColdFish
ColdFish 2.0 Beta on RIAForge
Jason Delmore added ActionScript and MXML syntax highlighting to his ColdFish project.

Galleon
Galleon ColdFusion 9 fix, and pagination UI update
Another ColdFusion 9 compatability issue for Raymond Camden, this time with the throw method in image.cfc which affected Galleon.

LogBox
LogBox Beta 2 Released
Luis Majano announces the newest version of his enterprise logging library which includes some bug fixes and a new feature called "category inheritance."

RIAForge
RIAForge Update, and awesome example of ColdFusion/Google Integration
Raymond Camden updated RIAForge with integrated Google Analytics using Todd Sharps ColdFusion Google API.

varScoper
varScoper 1.30 release with CF Builder extension
This release by Mike Schierberl fixes over 17 reported issues.
