Flex Camp Miami - Flex, AIR, Sun and Warmth!
I am very excited to announce Flex Camp Miami which will be held on
March 6 on the campus of the University of Miami. The event will be
held inside the Hurricane100 Room that is part of the new BankUnited
Center and will include lunch. The cost of the event is a very low $30.
At that price, even if you aren't in the area, you could fly in and enjoy a weekend in the sun and warmth and learn about Flex and AIR. I am sure for those of you up north like myself, this sounds quite tempting today. Seats are limited, so you should register today!
The warmth isn't the only reason to come. We have already lined up a great list of speakers from inside and outside the area including:
- Greg Wilson, Adobe - Greg
is an Adobe evangelist for AIR, Flex, ColdFusion and LiveCycle ES and
was part of the team that created the Tour de Flex application. Greg
will show us what's coming in Flex 4 (Gumbo), Flash Catalyst and more.
- David Tucker, Universal Mind - David is the author of the recently released Adobe AIR 1.5 Cookbook from O'Reilly and a frequent contributor to InsideRIA
- Maxim Porges, Highwinds - Maxim is Manager of Application Development at Highwinds and co-manager of the Adobe Developers Group of Greater Orlando (Adogo) and the Chairman of the IT Advisory Committee at Valencia Community College in Orlando, FL.
Maxim has been a frequent speaker at a variety of conferences.
- Laura Arguello, ASFusion - Laura is an extremely accomplished developer including accomplishments like winning the Mary Murray Outstanding Computer Scientist Award at the University of California, Irvine, and winning the Adobe Flex Derby contest in 2006. Laura is also well known for her many articles and presentations as well as the author of the Mango Blog application on which this site runs.
- Andrew Powell, Universal Mind - If you have been to any major conference on Adobe products including MAX or 360|Flex, chances are you have seen Andrew present. He is also a contributor to the Merapi project and the winner of the 360|Flex API Contest: Ribbit Category.
- Brian LeGros, Highwinds - Brian is a Senior Software Engineer at Highwinds and also co-manager of Adogo. Brian is a contributor to Fluint unit testing framework and the ColdBox application framework.
We are still working on some final slots on the schedule that will include a session on user experience design and a presentation by the team behingd ScrapBlog.com. In addition, I expect there will be plenty of giveaways, so look for more announcements soon. I also need to take a moment to thank our sponsors Adobe and Universal Mind, without whose support this event would not be possible. As I mentioned before, seating is limited and the price is unbeatable, so you should really register today. For more information, visit flexcampmiami.com.
