Kindle Blog Publishing Now Open to All
Posted on May 14, 2009
As noted in this article on TechCrunch, Amazon has now opened up publishing to Kindle for all blogs. I have already added this blog as well as my wife's education focused blog. Adding a blog was easy once you sign up, just requiring a valid RSS/Atom feed, a description and some keywords (a screenshot and a header can also be added). You can see a preview of what your blog will look like on a Kindle. Despite their notification that the content wouldn't be available for 48-72 hours, mine showed as approved within 15 minutes. If you have a blog with regular content, it might be worth considering this alternative distribution method as the Kindle is growing rapidly in popularity. I don't have one yet however, so if anyone subscribes to my blog via Kindle, please feel free to share feedback. If you would like to sign up, go here.

Looks like they are having technical issues. Sign ups fail.

I just heard about this via John Chow. Been trying to find out more before signing up. I guess I'll just go ahead, what's there to lose? Amazon is opening up a big can of opportunities here. Unfortunately payments are a bit complicated for non-US bloggers.

Oh, this is a good idea for Amazon- I'm sure it will get the Kindle more free pr in the blogosphere as we all mention it's availability - I wonder if it will grow in popularity like the ipod and then it would really add to the readership possibilities!

It took me two times to sign up to the Kindle Blogs section. Kind of buggy. It's been about 20 minutes so far and no approval yet, hopefully soon though. :)

Thank you for the article. I just created an account with kindle and added my blog. It is under pending for now, but I hope they approve it soon.
I agree, it is still little buggy.

I finally got remotesynthesis to view on my Kindle 6". I noticed the logo is a bit fuzzy, but other than that, it loads pretty fast.
